Playing with Makeup: Lancome Pampered & Privileged Look #1

May 10, 2010

For this edition of “Playing with Makeup,” I was inspired by this gorgeous palette from Lancome: the Limited Edition Color Design Sensational Effects Palette in Pampered & Privileged. It comes with six perfectly coordinated eye shadows–perfect for playing!

I could play with this palette all day, all week! I came up with two different looks over the weekend that I’d love to share. I call this first look “Natural Beauty.” It’s a great look for everyday, or for a night when you want to keep things low key. And it’s really fast and easy to put together! Just 5 simple steps:

STEP 1: Apply the golden shimmery color from the inner corner of the eyes to the center of the lid.

Step 1: Lancome Pampered & Privileged Look #1

STEP 2: Apply the taupe color onto the outer corner of the eyes.

Step 2: Lancome Pampered & Privileged Look #1

STEP 3: Blend with the pink shimmery shade into the crease (right above the eyeball, if that makes sense).

Step 3: Lancome Pampered & Privileged Look #1

STEP 4: Apply the light pink shade right under the brow for highlight.

Step 4: Lancome Pampered & Privileged Look #1

STEP 5: Use the dark brown to fill in your brows and line the waterline/lower lashes for a subtle, slightly smoky effect. Finish with liner close to the lash line and top with mascara; I used Sephora’s Long Lasting Eye Liner in Brown and Lash Plumper in Black.

Step 5: Lancome Pampered & Privileged Look #1

And here’s the finished look!

For the face, I used Smashbox High Definition Liquid Concealer in Light, Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder in Light, and NARS Blush in Orgasm (all available from Sephora).

And for the lips, I chose Smashbox Desert Chic Lip Enhancing Gloss in Cactus Flower. It’s a very pretty pink/coral shade, adding a little pop of color that’s perfect for daytime. For a little more glam, you can try wearing a brighter lip color like fire engine red or hot pink.

The Lancome Limited Edition Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Palette, besides having a very long name (haha!), is also BeFlurt’s Weekly Special! It’s usually available on BeFlurt.com for $29.99 compared to $45 retail, but this week it’s on sale for $22.50. That’s half off from the original retail price! Personally, this palette is one of my favorite things in my makeup bag, so I highly recommend it.

For my second look (coming soon), I’ll be upping the glam factor with a smoky bronze eye. Stay tuned!

Until next time… stay beautiful!

❤ Cristina
